7 Ways Stay in Good Mood Despite the Bad News

It often happens so that you wake up in the morning feeling down. TV and newspapers bring the next portion of bad news in the world at large, there are problems at work, and the loved ones give you a headache. What can one do to support well-being when it seems like everything is unstable and gloomy?

I   A good night sleep for at least 8 hours is a must. The example of Napoleon who slept for 4 hours a day is just a myth. Leading psychiatrists reiterate importance of sleep and lack of it for everyday activities and health of the psyche.

II   When I talk about mood (good mood), I mean emotions and "feelings". What feels good to you? Or in other words what can create positive emotions that you would carry throughout your day. Here numerous research has been done by psychologists...as well as by creative people - artists.

III   As soon as you wake up on the wrong foot turn on your favorite music and it will set up the mood for the day.

IV   In the evening watch you favorite movie. In the early childhood we got used to stories and fairy-tales that our parents read to us before going to bed. We grew up and those stories got replaced by the movies we watch and books we read.

V   Learn to see the beauty everywhere and this beauty will start emerging from within you.

VI   Hang a large picture in a beautiful frame in your bedroom. Let it be the picture of something that you really like, that brings you joy.  Let it hang on the wall until you get tired of it and replace it with a new image.

VII   There are many creative people who work to alter your mood for the better (or worse), be selective when you get exposed to their art. Film directors, musicians, photographers, artists and writers are all the great source to help you create your own positive reality.

Surround yourself with good people and have a Happy Day!
