The Day I Die

This poem is written in loving memory of a friend whose journey through life ended abruptly...but who will remain in people's hearts forever. We met today 11 years ago, and today I want to share these words...Enjoy your last endless flight Dmitry Maslennikov

The day I die I’ll turn to wind
Which will be living above your house
The day you die you’ll turn to sunlight
Which will be high above the clouds

October morning I’ll be somewhere
Around the world and saying vows
To you, my sweet and dear sunlight,
Come, shine on me, let’s break the clouds.

Oh  please, don’t turn to sunlight now
It is too early to say the vows
I will make sure you are breathing,
I will be praying while you’re sleeping
And I will listen to your heart beating
Until I turn to wind.

The day I die I’ll turn to snow
And  slowly fall onto the ground
The day you die you’ll turn to wind
And  you will catch me half way down

The day you die you’ll turn to sunlight
And you will shine towards the ground
The day I die I’ll turn to flower
You’ll make me bloom without a doubt.
